Not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand I like that this focuses on the messy and obsessive relationship between the trio. On the other hand I thought this would lean in harder on the horror of the Gray invading the body, but that only happened in the last 1/4 and it didn't really go into enough detail for my taste. It felt like it took too long to get to that point. I also thought Vinh's behavior and choices at the end didn't make much sense given how she's behaved up to this point.
The book gives me a lot to think about but it still didn't quite live up to what I wanted from it.

Graphic: Genocide, Torture, Toxic relationship, and Toxic friendship
Moderate: Body horror, Death, Genocide, Gore, and Panic attacks/disorders
Minor: Violence, Alcohol, and Colonisation
