Shout by Laurie Halse Anderson

5.0

Disturbing and affecting. It has an empowering aspect as well, but I was drawn into a place of sad hopelessness by how wide-spread and still hidden so much sexual harassment and abuse still occurs, how much people in power want to keep pretending like everything is fine. Halse Anderson is indeed shouting in this book, and I think we can all benefit from hearing it and doing our own shouting. It can just a heavy place to linger.
