The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

5.0

This was hard to put down - and surprisingly so, given my tastes. I picked this up for a book club, and even mildly debated skipping it. I purchased a paperback copy from
Tattered Cover Bookstore in Denver, where not one but two booksellers had said this is their favorite book of all time. You don’t have to be up on your Greek mythology to follow the story. Madeline Miller’s prose is beautiful- easily flowing and I found myself consuming this book at light speed. Storyline follows child Achilles and his best companion Patroclus as they become men and enter into the decades long war with Troy. I have already purchased Miller’s book Circe - that is how much I enjoyed this read.
