What’s an interesting way to learn of the Sami reindeer herding culture! Elsa’s trauma at the age of 9 shaped her life of fear for herself, her extended family, and her beloved reindeer. It moved slowly at the beginning, but that was necessary for me to engage with this ancient culture in modern times - so different from mine. I learned that the name I had been taught in school as a child is completely a very negative term that should never used. Mental health problems in a culture so under attack was well discussed. A good mystery type story from factual and personal reports. Hope this author writes another novel.
