Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's "learned" by Lena Dunham
lighthearted
slow-paced
2.0
This person is trying to be not like other girls so badly that it is bringing me physical pain. We will not talk about how author compares Holocaust and an eating disorder (no, not in an understandable way). Just a woman being miserable and insufferable from cover to cover. I honestly don’t know why anyone would want to read this book. Maybe only if you know the author personally. I started listing alternative books to read about 20-something woman who is figuring out life, but I quickly realized that almost everything in that niche is better than this book. Just go with Sally Rooney, maybe you will not be “that girl” with a unknown memoir and sadly be like “the other girls”, but at least you won’t forget everything that happened in the book the second you finish it. I would be so much angrier about this book, but as I already said I know I will forget about this book as soon as put it away, and in this case — could not be happier.
