The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson

5.0

WHAT. JUST. HAPPENED.

I am having severe difficultly thinking coherently at the moment. My mind is REELING. This was even better than the first book. It introduced many more plot threads that I am still trying to weave together in my head. This series is more complex than I ever imagined or expected. The characters (Nate, especially) are so lovable, if a little damaged, and I can’t get over how good the character dynamics are. So much fun. Should I be laughing this much during a murder mystery? Definitely not. But I did, and it’s fine. I’m sane, I swear. Tension was so high in this one and only builds leading up to that shocking cliffhanger. You will be on the edge of your seat from start to finish. This book will leave you pacing for hours, trailing question mark after question mark in your mind.

I am now deceased.
