Don't ever die of exhaustion on somebody else's terms. This follows our main character Tabitha that is struggling with a lot. She is dealing with personal issues with her career, navigating a relationship with a boyfriend of almost two years that feels like it might not being anywhere and also dealing with the every day struggles of being a black woman. She receives some devastating news that might put all her future plans on hold and we watch as she figures out her life with the help of her family and best friends.
I loved this!!! I related so much to Tabitha and the things she was going through as a black woman in her early thirties trying to have it all which includes having a great career, wanting to start a family and having a good relationship. There is so much pressure put on women to do things on a certain timeline that it causes women to stress instead of just live and let things happen at the time they are supposed to. In this book we watch as Tabitha has to make decisions she wasn't prepared to make and at times it leads her to make irrational decisions. I loved how her friends had her back and I liked following her friends because they also had their own sets of issues that others might relate to as well. There was another side character in this book by the name of Gretchen that was not only hilarious, but she dropping all kinds of gems through out this book. I would highly recommend because even if you couldn't relate to everything in this story, I think there would be something that would call out to you. I can't wait to pick up book 2!!
