American Sphinx: The Character of Thomas Jefferson by Joseph J. Ellis
4.0
A well written, easily read, yet intriguing biography of Thomas Jefferson. Ellis gives an introductory account of Jefferson's fascinating character and the controversy that surrounds him. I read this book back in 2007 for my Jr. college first ever American history class, and some parts were very difficult for me because my English skills were not near to where they are now, and I needed a dictionary on almost every few words or so. Nevertheless, it was still a very interesting book, and an easy read in most parts even for me at the time.
