The Magician's Daughter by H.G. Parry
3.25
The way H.G. Parry wrote the description and buildup for the section when Biddy gets attacked by the whisps on Hy-Brasil for the first time while being distracted by the Pucà was so fun and imaginative, it delighted me so much! I also really loved this specific sentence at the beginning of the book, I couldn’t stop thinking about it: “She was a half-wild thing of ink and grass and sea breezes, raised by books and rabbits and fairy lore, and that was all she cared to be.”
