The Promise of Us by Jamie Beck

3.0

This was a pretty light read. However, the characters were a little dull to me. A lot of time was spent inside of the main character's mind and I somehow still didn't feel connected to her story. The insecurity of Claire drove me crazy at times.

Claire's a magnet for tough times and the story line felt a big morbid and deprecating to me, even with the pseudo happy ending. However, I do appreciate the fact that the book is not about the perfect girl next door looking for love. Rather. 5here are real issues, both mentally and physically, that people will be able to resonate with.
