Counterfeit by Kirstin Chen
4.0
Bought this one because of the cover and started it last night without reading anything - the more accurate title is Counterfate because Kirstin Chen ATE in this offering.
Equally thrilling and entertaining, Counterfeit is a novel that combined an expose about consumerism and corporate elitism in a global scale + litmus test about the entire eat the rich movement.
Overall, I enjoyed the book (which I paired with an audiobook) and liked how Ava Wong and Winnie Fang managed to fasttrack a counterfeit industry that matched the international brands - that's one way to achieve the ultimate girlboss status.
The thing that got me confused is how the book didn't use quotation marks so I had to reread some paragraphs to check whether it's an internal thought or part of a conversation.
RATING: 4stars
