Dark Age by Pierce Brown
5.0
Dark Age, indeed! This was by far the most gruesome of the books in the saga thus far. You’d think I’d have learned long ago NOT to become attached to any one character, but here I am…not learning my lesson and slipping into deep fictional depression/mourning because of it.
Pierce Brown is a masterful writer for so very many reasons. His ability to illicit visceral reactions from me is one of them.
Cons: This one had quite a few drag spots…especially at the beginning. Not sure if it was the storyline itself or that fact that Lysander was the main narrator and I cannot stand him. Although, full disclosure: I tend to zone out when there’s lots of dialogue involving many different names/characters and/or description of battles, which this was FULL of.
Dark Age honestly felt like three different books, and at that length, I suppose it could’ve been or should’ve been!
I’m not sure what I’m going to do with myself once this saga has ended. This story is matchless.
