i fear i will never beat the hater allegations. this book is just…bad. i went into this thinking that the main character, Vivien, would be codebreaking dragon languages like how one codebreaks Morse Code. no one warned me that the dragons fucking speak english. that’s right! THE DRAGONS CAN SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!! this just bothers me so bad, i can’t even explain it. you are going to look me in the eyes and tell me a giant flying lizard has the vocal cords to speak english??? also the plot description is so misleading. it made me think that Vivien was going to get the government ‘job’ so she can try to break her parents out from the inside. not that she fucking breaks a dragon out of jail with no planning and is blackmailed into said job. i feel lied to.
