A Shore Thing by Joanna Lowell
4.0
A SHORE THING is a queer historical romance set along the Cornish seaside. Kit is a former painter forging a new life for himself in Cornwall as a bicycle shop owner when he meets Muriel, a botanist who wants to commission him for seaweed illustrations. The two embark on a cycling excursion and form a deep and unexpected connection. This was a well-researched, heartfelt romance with fantastic characters. Lowell touches on themes of self-discovery, sexuality, art, and the power of love all set during a fascinating time period. Highly recommend. Make sure to read the author’s note at the end!
