Muhammad Ali: by Inspired Inner Genius

5.0

Did you know Muhammad Ali first started learning to box after his bicycle was stolen when he was just twelve years old (and when his name was still Cassius Clay Jr.)? As an elementary teacher of many students who are also athletes, I loved sharing this illustrated biography of Ali with them. Not only was he a gifted athlete and champion boxer, he was also a courageous activist who stood up for his beliefs. It’s just right for students in Grades 2-5, given the tougher thematic content surrounding the Vietnam War and trickier vocabulary. As usual, text features like the glossary and included teaching guide set this series apart. I highly recommend this one to all the little readers in your life.
