Prince of the Palisades by Julian Winters

4.0

This is a cute romcom though it did fall short a little for me to entirely being onboard with it being a romcom. I found the characters a little one dimensional and lacking the depth I normally need from them in order for it to feel like a romcom. I did like the characters; I just didn’t really care about them or feel connected to them. I did appreciate that Jadon and Reiss had such a great network of friends. I was just talking about this with some of my friends the other day how they seem to have such a strong social network, and I think its great and really helps people feel like they have a connection. This book also had some interesting family dynamics that were fun to wade through with the characters.

I listened to this one on audio and followed along in my book. The narrator did a great job keeping the characters’ mannerisms first and foremost and kept me engaged. I enjoyed hearing and reading about all the special moments.

Overall, this was a good read, it had some downsides for me but I think that it will really resonate with those YA readers that seek it out.
