My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella
4.0
I’ve heard of Sophie Kinsella before, I mean I don’t live under a rock, but I don’t think I’ve ever actually read one of her books. So when I was scanning the virtual library shelves for something lighthearted and this was available I decided why not.
What I didn’t expect was for this to hit really close to home. In this day in age of that perfect Instagrammable life, it can be hard to forget that it’s not real. For every perfect photo there are multiple imperfect ones. That’s the heart of this book... that and the fact that it’s normal and down right less boring that way.
I relate soooo much to Katie in this, and I found myself wanting her to win! Thank god I got my wish or I would have thrown my iPad!! She’s strong, yet vulnerable. She’s smart, yet naive, and she’s who we’ve all been at one time or another in our lives. A strong 4/5 stars for a realistic and uplifting story of a modern woman surviving the modern world with a little romance and happily ever after on the side!
