Still Beating by Jessie Walker
3.0
I love Will and Way.
I loved their duet.
I thought that I was ready for this little novella and while I did enjoy it and it gave me some emotional emotions while reading. I definitely felt like this short story was a step back for these boys. It seemed like they had dealt with some of these feelings about / within their relationship at the end of the duet. I think I was a little disappointed that the same conversations were being repeated. I think it was nice to see them be vulnerable with each other earnestly. But I wish I could have seen them be secure with each other. Not every vulnerable moment has to be the product of trauma. Which I think was the overall message of the novella. But I think we could have received that message in a clearer or at least a shorter story.
