the land and the king are one!
this bite-sized ya novel is very dreamy (tonally) and meandering (structurally), but the plot itself - and ultimately the plot resolution - is very simple. you could take issue with what the like, ideological point of it is, or you could just enjoy a rather charming novel. ymmv! i enjoyed the slow way the wordbuilding was parceled out and the fuzzy sun-soaked (honey-soaked, even) narrative style. and the bees.
