Rethinking Gender: An Illustrated Exploration by Louie Läuger
informative
medium-paced
4.0
this was a really good examination of gender, and imo was pretty all encompassing. I think this would be a great read for literally anyone interested in the topic, particularly for people who are maybe less aware of the nuances surrounding gender and who have gender diverse people in their lives, or for people questioning their own gender identity.
Something about it just wasn’t 5 stars and I’m not really sure what. Perhaps some parts were a tad conflated, whereas others could’ve done with some more detail, I’m not sure. But the author did a great job of asking questions of the reader and encouraging introspection, and I think that was a really good way to engage people with the topic. It had me thinking for sure.
Overall though, I definitely think I will be recommending this to some friends and family who ask questions about my non binary identity.
