Loathe to Love You by Ali Hazelwood
3.75
Okay, so each of these stories was fun and steamy and hit on a lot of tropes that I really enjoy (ie rivals to lovers with a pining hero because Fitzwilliam Darcy installed my buttons). I enjoyed reading the stories and thought the character development was well done, especially for novellas. However, I feel like I just read the same story three times in a row: woman in STEM finds a sexy giant who is immediately, irrevocably attracted to her but there’s a miscommunication and she thinks they hate each other until they end up having sex, and there are two timelines to build up the context and the tension. In addition, the men were pretty flat other than their physical prowess (perhaps with the exception of Ian, who also got to be a nerd and an excellent scientist), and I think the friendship between the three women could have been a bit more bantery and intertwined throughout the three stories.
