Work Won't Love You Back: How Devotion to Our Jobs Keeps Us Exploited, Exhausted, and Alone by Sarah Jaffe

informative reflective medium-paced

3.5

I would have likely rated higher, but I feel the title is a bit misleading. This is really less about /how/ devotion keeps exploited, and more examples of being exploited. The layout of the book is good - being divided by industry or type of job is interesting - but I was hoping for more along the lines of psychology, tools for reflection, a breakdown of the ways jobs can exploit and how to not allow your love for your job to keep you in a bad situation. While the examples were meaning and posited some forms of reflection, it was lacking the deeper understanding the title lends itself toward.
