Dawson is definitely someone you don't want to cross. He takes matters into his own hands, especially when harm is done to women and children. I couldn't fault him for that.

This detective mystery follows a murder investigation in Ketanu, and Detective Darko Dawson is called in to solve the murder. He is known for being a no-nonsense person who has a tragic past of his own. He takes his job seriously, especially when it comes to missing women and children and those who have been killed. He soon finds himself back in the last place his mother was before she disappeared.

There are a lot of important topics in this book. One of the main focuses in this book is the religious practice of Trokosi. This practice is extremely controversial, and I thought the author handled the topic with extreme care. I even went down the rabbit hole of my own research halfway through this book about the topic, and it was an eye-opening experience, to say the least.

The only thing I had an issue with was that all
the characters there were introduced. While the main focus is on Dawson's police work, there are chapters that introduce many other side characters, so it got a bit confusing.
