Venom and Holly are two of my favorite side characters separately. Together, I like them so much more. We don’t see too much of these characters in earlier books (though enough to know they were eventually going to be paired), but I’ve always liked them. In this book we finally get to see why Venom is different and how Holly is coming along after her attack.

Though not really anything to do with the overarching plot of the series, and having a subplot that became the main plot (though maybe should’ve stayed the subplot? IDK, I liked the bounty sub-plot better than what became the main-plot), it was still an interesting enough read. I mean, honestly, if you’ve made it this far into the series, you’re not really here for the revolutionary plot are you? Her books are very formulaic and, personally, so long as I go in knowing that, I can enjoy it as a comfort read.
