Best-friends-to-lovers is my favorite trope, but if not done right it can be boring. This novella was absolutely not boring. Loved the pining and loved how Rory's insecurities were handled. The intense emotions the author is able to convey are the heart of this story. 

Also I'm pretty sure I read the story of the other two friends on holiday in another story from the author. Something I deeply appreciate is that in both stories the MCs are so focused on each other that they don't realize what's going on with their friends! And that's great because too often authors spend time on teasing what's going to happen on the next book/story, which is something that I generally don't like
