Of Women and Salt by Gabriela Garcia

5.0

I love me a multi-generations immigrant novel, so I was excited to pick this up, and the initial setting in Cuba really drew me in, as Cuba has long been a topic I’ve enjoyed reading about. The stories of each of the women did not disappoint — they vividly brought to life the experiences of women in both Cuba and in the Cuban diaspora.

I’m not *quite* sure it all hangs together as a unified whole. It felt more like a collection of short stories than a multi-generational narrative, but that didn’t detract much from how much I liked this book.
