OMG I don't know where to start. This book is just amazing. Perhaps the first thing would be to say that if you have any kind of triggers, read the warnings first, the author lists them on her website and also warns about them at the beginning of the book (although she doesn't specify them here). If not, go blind and read it. You will not regret it.
The story unfolds over the years, from the MCs' teens to their twenties, where the main events occur. They meet when their parents decide to get married, and the antagonism is immediate, especially from Kyran's side.
They couldn't be more different. If we talk about opposites, there is no better example of them. Where Kyran is grumpy and closed off, Avi is open and all smiles (sarcastic most of the time, but smiles nonetheless). Where Avi lets himself be carried away by the changes he is going through and embraces them, Kyran resists and rejects them with all his might. Complete opposites.
At first it's hard to warm to Kyran, his behavior is sometimes just hateful, but as the story progresses, and if we follow Avi's example and start to see under the many layers that cover him, we see a tortured and lonely soul that went through one of the most terrible experiences that a person should never have to suffer, added to some parents in denial and I would almost say indiferent, who simply want to be loved.
And then the unexpected happens and they must "work" together to stay in college. As he and Avi "collaborate" on their OF "project", Avi begins to peel back those layers, getting a glimpse of the real Kyran, and Kyran beginning to realize that when he's with Avi, he can finally let go and be his true self.
Some things are revelead just as Kyran decides to plunge headlong into his relationship with Avi that sent him into a spiral and he realizes that in order for them to be together, for him to be a whole person and to love Avi as he deserves, he first needs to fully heal.
It is a moving story, at times really painful because Kyran's trauma, and at others really funny, thanks to Avi, and his free and spontaneous character, that always manages to lighten up even in the heaviest moments, and that is one of the qualities that most attracts Kyran. It's a story that because of its plot, the fact that they end up being cam boys is full of really, really hot moments. And they are many. I would almost say too many, but they are written in such a way, and fit the story so well, that they end up not being enough! After all, the FANS ask for it!
I would like to add that the secondary characters are incredible, I hope [a:Nyla K.|18213143|Nyla K.|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1632680029p2/18213143.jpg] will regale us with stories about Guty, Theo, Micah and Zeb!
Anyway, I think I ended up writing an extremely long review, but this book deserved it. I hope you take the opportunity to read it and enjoy it as much as I did.
I was given an advanced review and wrote a voluntarily review.
