The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides

5.0

I went into this book knowing very little of it. I knew there is a movie (I'm definitely going to watch it just so I can compare the two) but other than that it was a mystery (much like the Lisbon girls, as the narrator of the book would probably say).

This book is written so well. It drew me in and held on tight. I could so clearly envision the street, the Lisbon house and the girls. It's graphic at times so be aware of that if you are still struggling with your own mental health battle.

The most interesting thing for me was the way it's written from someone other than the girls or their parents point of view. You have no idea what goes on through the minds of these girls, not really, only what the narrator has put together.

Beautiful telling of a very tragic story.
