A story that speaks about bullying without sugar coating any of it. The feelings of isolation and loneliness as a high school girl, chubby, no friends, openly made fun of.
The parallel between Helene's life and the progress of Jane Eyre's story as she's reading the novel was really well done and accurately reflected the escapism books can bring / how much one can compare one's life to fictional characters and relate to them (or not).
It also had a happy ending. Hope coming back as colors in the otherwise black and white illustrations.
