Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

5.0

If the world was ending tomorrow, I'd still plant an apple tree.

This may be my favourite book of all time, and I wish I was exaggerating. I'm not sure if it was the narration style that spoke to me so personally, or the fact I could see a little bit of myself in each and every character but the story was so beautiful and I wish everyone had read it.

Anxious People is a story about a lot of things, but particularly a story about idiots. The main story involves a bank robbery that isn't really a bank robbery, that turns into a hostage drama that isn't really a hostage drama and a group of strangers who realize we're all trying to do the same thing, get to the end of the day because we have another one tomorrow.

1000000/5 stars. Truly spoke to me in a way I haven't felt from a book in a really long time.
