Pretending I Love Lucy by Julie Christianson is a sweet and fun read! I enjoyed every minute of this delightful RomCom. For me, the characters make this story. I love Lucy (hehehe). She is such a great character, always there for anyone at anytime to help for any reason. Watching her interact with her family is great, but watching her with Grams is the absolute best. I really appreciate how deeply she cares for Grams, always putting Grams first and going along with all her silly, whimsical plans. As for Grams, she is a hoot! For an 85-year old, her energy is boundless. She is so smart and witty and cooky. Some of my most favorite parts of this story are when Grams is on scene. She made me laugh out loud. What I loved about her the most is her love for her grandson, Fix. She genuinely wants Fix to have the best of everything, including the best girlfriend. She knows her grandson down to his core, and knows that what he needs most is Lucy. As for Fix, what a sweetie! He is so observant. He sees Lucy for whom she truly is. He sees that Lucy takes care of every single person she come across and he really loves that about her. But he also sees that no one takes care of her, so he decides that he needs to do just that. What ensues is a sweet, but somewhat bumpy, road to true love. Such a fun journey — I’m glad I went on it with these characters.

Pretending I Love Lucy is a Contemporary Romance I won’t soon forget. With a full cast of excellent and endearing characters, witty and hilarious banter, and moments that had me laughing one minute then swooning the next, this book is definitely a must-read for any RomCom lover.
