This book saw me. Coco Mellors somehow took my heart and put it on the page. The way she writes about what it feels like to lose a sibling to overdose and try to go on in the aftermath is so real and heartbreaking it's hard to remember this is fiction. It's clear she knows what it's like to be part of a family deeply impacted by addiction and all the ways it can tear relationships apart and, sometimes, bring them together. I connected with all of the sisters but as an oldest daughter, Avery's storyline could easily be my own. I don't know if I'll ever recover from this book but it also healed me in ways I didn't know I needed.
