I was under the impression that there would not be any miscommunication or angst (my fault, I was reading synopsis and reviews for many books to choose what to read… So it’s likely that I mistook a positive review about being mature and having great communication skills for another book with this book).
Overall an okay read. Val and Riley make better and interesting characters than the main characters. There are elements that I liked about the book - complicated family relationship and trauma, therapy, perspectives - putting yourself in another person’s shoes, trust issues, and self sacrifice. But nothing really stands out and it wasn’t an enjoyable read for me.
