Mr. Broody by Piper Rayne

5.0

Henry and Jade are childhood friends turned lovers, turned almost strangers. During their breakup and separation, they each thought they were doing what was necessary—but when Jade returns home, Henry is determined to clear the air.
Second-chance romance is my ultimate trope. It never fails to make me melt—especially when it’s childhood sweethearts—and in this case, it had me crying full tears no less than three times before I was even halfway through the book. The love between Henry and Jade is so deep, and their separation years ago left them both deeply wounded. They each have their own soul-searching to do, but it’s so clear they’re more whole together than they ever were apart. The emotion packed into their history and reunion? Heart-wrenching. Cue the tears again.
The chapters from Bodhi’s perspective were such a sweet touch! As a mom, I loved seeing his relationship with Jade; it added so much warmth to the story.
And the foreshadowing for future plotlines? So good! Mr. S is going to be amazing—I can’t wait to see where the story goes next.
