None of This Would Have Happened if Prince Were Alive by Carolyn Prusa

2.0

This book claims to be both hilarious and heartwarming but it is neither. It's more like an anxiety attack wrapped in Gilmore Girls styled writing. The connection to Prince feels so loose and pointless to the story. I really was pulling for some actual growth and development for the protagonist but it doesn't really happen, which granted is hard because the main plot takes place within a few days. Also her husband is a POS not just for cheating where he uses the excuse "I love you and the kids but I also love sex" (yikes much and yes this is almost a verbatim quote) but for the insane amount of weaponized incompetence and shouldn't have been forgiven. Quotation marks in the book seem to be optional at certain times and not at others which makes the book hard to follow.
