Okay, so one thing about me is that I detest flashbacks. I understand their necessity in providing character backstories, but I’m more of an “in the moment” person. Unfortunately, this entire book serves as Joey and Aoife’s backstory, and I must admit, I’m not particularly invested in it. I don’t feel like the characters significantly developed after reading this book, and frankly, I’m ready to get to the present day.
