The Party Dress Book: How to Sew the Best Dress in the Room by Amy Sedaris, Mary Adams
5.0
This is the other book I'm buying as soon as my book budget resets. SO gorgeous! At first I wasn't sure where I'd seen a Mary Adams dress before--then I realized it was on Amy Sedaris.
I have no occasion to wear these dresses to, not at all (I said this about Twinkle Sews also) but these, I'd wear around the house just for fun. They are SO utterly beautiful. I just hope that reading the book and looking at the photos for inspiration translates into being able to produce something that shows even an inkling of the beauty with which Mary's party dresses fairly explode off the page.
Patterns are included in a pouch on the back. Instructions on materials, color/fabric choices, and techniques are intensely detailed. This lady is a serious dress nerd, and I think I love her.
