Meet Me in Wonderland by Angel Anders, Angel Anders

What is with the scenes cutting off at such weird times? I have never seen this in a book and it was so awkward. It made everything feel incomplete. They are in the middle of a spicy scene, it goes into full detail spice (so its not like this is to keep it closed door, which I would understand if that was the case), and then it just clips and cuts to another day, or another event. Also, they are constantly eating. This seems like it wouldn't be an issue, but everything is about coffee, food, ordering food, looking at menus, eating meals. It gets annoying after a bit. Ellie comes off as a bit of a Karen when things at the resort go awry. I think the author was going for assertive, professional woman, but it just made a mockery of how women are perceived when they are trying to fix an issue that comes up in a professional setting. There was more tension between the MCs in the office, and then not so much when their romance story is actually starting to take off. It's like the tension just took a dive. The spicy scenes are also written in a very choppy fashion that makes it seem a little too realistic. Giving off all the awkwardness that probably, actually occurs when two new partners try to have slightly kinky sex and don't quite pull it off. Ellie's decisions towards the end are just so hard to follow. If the FMC is going to be doing this, there needs to be more explanation and more of a deep dive into the characters thought process.

Things I did enjoy were the first 20% of the book. Like I said previously, this is where all the tension between the MCs is. I also enjoyed the ending. I don't think this book or this author is for me. But everyone is different, so I would say if you wanted to read this book, go for it. There are a lot of positive reviews, so maybe some of this is just my preferences.
