Okkkkkk so minus the OTT lunatic bad guy at the end there, and the niggles i had with Theo's poor (read:eyeroll) communication skills...yk, for an adult, breathing person who is surrounded by genuinely lovely loving people who all, yes, love him...

Uhhh so yesss minus THAT character flaw, i really really really enjoyed this installment! Legends of the Whisper Woods has been a super fabulous series so far and i'm very happy i got a chance to discover this wonderful world Ali Woods has created here!
So yeah, building on some of the things i found a bit lightweight in the first book, i thought Whisper Falls delivered a scrumptious sexy fantasy that leaned into reno cottage core as a healing tool, and i ate that HGTV bliss up like nobody's business! sigh
And ooooooh yum the size diff really hit in this! Roan melted my brain with his gorgeous berserker ripped bod...and also his sensitive horns...but mostly i loved how HE was the one who rescued Theo from harm, snatching him from the clutches of a death-dealing ancient monster, which then just added to Roan's growly-overprotective-jealous hulking out every time someone got close to HIS bae.
As an aside, (and though it's unnecessary) I'm really really glad i read Book 1 tbh. Because Roan was like a very welcomed but also surprising add at the literal end of Whisper Wells, to the "save Theo" rescue plan...and the memory of how emo intense he was in those ending chapters after realizing that his fae-tuition led him to his fated mate, is making me goofy grin rn!
Ahh young, fated love-induced beast-mode, how you get me every. Single. Time.
And ofc i ate up Theo's bit of brattiness! I mean why not?!?! Roan was delicious and handled Theo's sexy provocation very well imo ;p
But even more than the romance, i found Theo's healing journey really poignant and affecting. Having to rediscover who he was without the trappings of his past achievements, people and skillset, Theo embraced a much different path forward and it was rewarding to watch him flourish the more he came into his own!
On top of everything else, the found family in this just adds to how endearing and quirky and lovable i think this series has been so far! Everyone's so sweet and sassy and unique and i can't get enough of them! And while I love the romantic bonded/fated mate pairings for both Books 1 & 2 so far, STG within the opening 3 sentences of this book I was straight up foaming at the mouth for whomever Seff ends up with, because that book is gonna break my everything in the best way possible!!! Turns out that drink of fine as fk showed up at the end of this book, and Rafe is a hot promise that i can't wait to read about in Whisper Woods!!
Again, not to detract from the sexy cuteness that was Roan and Theo, or Book 1's Caelan and Tor, but my boy Seff is so much affable sunshine loveliness that I need his and Rafe's HEA like yesterday! I'm so excited for Book 3, and rn i can't think of anything better than spending time in Whisper Woods! So i hope i won't have to wait too long before i get back to Ali's amazing world because i've been having loads of fun and i can't wait for everything else still to come!
