I know I’m an outlier when I say this, but to me the book was just ‘meh’. There’s witty writing and good jokes, yeah, but the story didn’t carry much weight and the protagonist was one-note. The popularity and adoring fans from this book is no doubt due to it’s unique prose by the time of publishing- It’s satirical, dry humor was one of its kind, but coming from a newer generation I’ve had my fill and then some.
