This was a great time, I read one of the villains novels a few months back, and it encouraged me to go back to read some vintage fantasy goodness.
For some reason I expected Dragonlance to be a more tame, family friendly version of DnD buut uh....this book goes for it. The aftermath of brutal dragon burnings felt more brutal than 90% of horror books that I've read.
This isn't perfect but it has a great cast of characters with a really interesting overarching plot. Plus Dragons.
Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
