Untypical: How the World Isn't Built for Autistic People and What We Should All Do About it by Pete Wharmby
4.0
A book written by an autistic author for autistics and allistics to learn from.
Well written. I felt seen and understood. This book will definitely help educate neurotypical people on how we experience the world.
If you are not in the greatest mindset I would let this book sit for a while. I did notice that some points subconciously triggered a deep sadness within me. I got my diagnosis 1,5 yrs ago and while I thought I was doing much better it threw me off a bit. (It doesn't make this book any less though because it does hit the touchy subjects and goes in depth).
I would have given it 5 stars if halfway through I didn't feel like the pacing went slower and the feeling of it getting repetitive without it actually repeating anything came to me.
