Bitch: A Revolutionary Guide to Sex, Evolution and the Female Animal by Lucy Cooke

Lucy Cooke’s latest book is a marvellous commentary on biased science and its weaponisation, and a wonderful study that tears apart every bigoted argument by showing not just the presence, but the importance of matriarchy, same-sex relations, and various non-binary sexes in nature.
As informative and powerful as this book is, it’s also fun and truly wild. The animals demonstrated vary from mammals to reptiles to birds to arthropods… the topics from matrilineal hierarchies to cannibalism… It displays the diversity in nature with a witty narration reminiscent of documentary films. It’s a must read for everyone.
I’m not a fan of audiobooks, but I adored every second of this one narrated by the author herself!
Many, many thanks to NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the DRC.
