I’m unsure how I feel about this book. It was so quietly but unrelentingly haunting. There is so much hope but for nothing. The only thing that ever happens is we see something slightly different. Never is a questioned answered. The main character deals with this with such detach. I wondered how much I could take. Certainly not as much as her. And is it because of her upbringing that she is that way or would she have been othered in a “regular” life?
