Okay! I gave this another listen andddd I still think Keris had a lot of potential of being more but... here we are 🥴

Back in The Inadequate Heir, I really loved how Keris' mind worked, and while it definitely had something to do with his relationship with Silas—evil king and father—I feel like what made Keris great in my eyes was sadly lost to his (reasonable) desperation and pinning for Zarrah.

And while books / stories shouldn't follow similar patterns to keep things interesting, I was expecting The Endless War to be just as quick, entertaining and nerve bitting as The Traitor Queen.

Comparing the two duologies, the first book for Lara and Aren / and Keris and Zarrah, they had an amazing amount of world building with the perfect set up for their duologies, but where I found The Traitor Queen (Lara and Aren #2) to be a frkn masterpiece, The Endless War (Keris and Zarrah #2) felt more like an extension rather than a completion.

That being said, I have a lottttttt of love for the prisoners on Devil's island—specifically the group of cannibals—because they deserved so much more than how their rebellion leader treated them 🔪🔪🔪 And in that, I was so happy Keris recruited them at the end; very on character for him!

But to wrap up:
• Sara Veliant was so frkn adorable !!! 🥰
• I wanted to see more backstabbing Veliant brothers 🦈
• Loved everything Lara and Aren 💞
• I apologies for my feelings before... Keris and Zarrah, it was the heat of the moment...

defs need to give this a reread because I was both disappointed and not disappointed with how The Endless War ended...

I just need to process my feelings lol

Also, F*CK Zarrah and Keris for (separately) insulting my favourite and superior couple 🔪 Lara and Aren deserve the world! 

But tender and raw feelings aside, I am FRKN PUMPED for Ahnna's next two books 🙌🏻 frkn keen bean haha
