It's time to talk about Hiding Lies by Stephanie Rose
✨First, let me tell you that Stephanie Rose is the proud owner of an online indie bookstore named Death By TBR Books. If this book catches your attention be sure to preorder it from her for a signed personalized edition! ✨
Hiding Lies is told in alternating POVs. We have Lydia, who has had a traumatic childhood. She's now a forensic photographer for the police. Then there's Adam. He works in a bookstore and has also had a horrible childhood. He's also a serial killer...
When people are found dead at campsites, Lydia is called in to document the scene. But the messages behind the kills are starting to get to Lydia. She starts to question everything.
Phew. This book is fantastic, but also not for the feint of heart. It has some violent scenes. Be sure to look up trigger warnings and such before diving in!
This book was very reminiscent of YOU and The Butcher and The Wren. It has a cat and mouse detective style to it and kept me hooked from the very beginning. This book is perfect for true crime lovers. It's beautiful ode to Silence Of the Lambs.
I
I loved how deep it dived into the secrets we hide from one another and how they affect everyone—not just us.
