I wanted to like this one so much more than I did unfortunately. It has an incredible concept (culty town with rituals that involve horses giving birth to humans, come on that’s so fun), but the execution felt so haphazard. The amount of characters was fine, but the multiple POVs and constant switching really prevented any significant connection. I also feel the impact got lost amidst all of this. I really wish we had focused on simply two or three characters (I would propose Marshall, Emma, and maybe Agatha) and allowed that focus to flesh out the world. Overall it was okay, just didn’t really connect the way I wished it could.
