To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
adventurous

fast-paced
3.0
This is a fast-paced little mermaid retelling with a dark and more sinister atmosphere and plot. The premise intrigued me and I was here for the vibes and adventure throughout the story. This also has a wholesome found family friend group with great banter and witty comebacks between the characters.
For a standalone fantasy, I was entertained, transfixed, and hooked by the adventure of the characters. I was here for the cunning, vile, and resilient main character Lira and how she handled every situation.
This is not a very descriptive story with its action for it being fast-paced, despite that it delivered what it was supposed to deliver.
