THIS is what YA Fantasy should look like! This book was EXCELLENT.

This book initially reminded me of The Shadowhunter Chronicles by Casandra Clare (minus the problematic stuff those books will often carry). If you like those books, though, you'll LOVE THIS. The characters and plot were excellent.

The representation in this book is unmatched. I wish books like Legendborn were the standard, not the exception. I thought this book took a informative and thoughtful perspective, and I loved how social issues intersected a story about a secret society that fights demons.

I had a ton of fun while reading this and cannot wait for the sequel!
