Mister Wonderful: A Love Story by Daniel Clowes
4.0
A short graphic novel about a man's blind date. Like a lot of Daniel Clowes work, the stakes are fairly low, but he draws you into the internal world of the character so well that even the anxiety of whether his date is going to turn up or not feels so important that it's an earrh-shatteringly huge issue. So by making you care about seemingly mundane details, the book made me care about a story which might have otherwise appeared boring, as very little happens. The art style is also quite unassuming but effective helps to guide you through the story.
